The Parkschlösschen is located in a quiet side valley of the Moselle, far from the hubbub of modern life. The resort is tucked away in four and one-half hectares of countryside that brighten the senses and soothe the soul. The concept of the resort is based on the ancient Ayurvedic principle that good health is the result of being in harmony with oneself and one’s true nature. The Parkschlösschen is committed to this concept.
Ayurveda at Parkschlösschen – authentic and exclusive
The hotel was initially an Art Nouveau castle that was then restored with great care during the early 1990s. In keeping with the holistic principle of Ayurveda, the aim of renovating the building was to create a place of harmony and aesthetics that would help people regain their natural balance. Ayurveda, the world’s most ancient art of healing, was to be put into practice in its purest form in this building.
In redecorating the castle, mainly natural materials like pure wool, wood, slate and marble were used. The water supply for the entire building was, and still is, drawn from the nearby thermal spring. The 60 rooms were systematically cleared of any harmful influences. Electric cables were fitted with double insulation. Marble was used to create a shield over water veins, and the rooms were furnished with pure wool carpets and pure silk wallpaper to guarantee the well-being of the guests.
Not only the architecture and decorations, but also the medical care, food, exercise programme and accompanying activities at the Parkschlösschen are based on the wisdom of ancient Ayurvedic medicine.
