Set in three acres of paddy fields with wonderful views of the Himalayan mountains bordering Tibet, Bamboo Resort is a quiet and interesting place to base yourself for treks, with creative workshops, meditation and herbal soaks on offer.
There is a wonderfully authentic top floor meditation room, complete with traditional Buddhist altar and glass windows looking out to mountains. A perfect place for your own yoga or meditation practice, or an introduction to meditation can be arranged.
There’s also a special room for herbal baths – soak in one infused with lemon-grass from the garden, lit by candle light and with a relaxing herbal tea. Foot massage is also on offer, and workshops available on request include basket weaving, cooking and sikkimese language classes and Tibetan mandala painting with a Thangka Master.
