Meditation retreats in bangkok
Since opening in the middle of last year we have held regular meditation retreats and workshops at Ariyasomvilla. We have also held numerous ceremonies and blessings presided over by a number of senior and well respected Monks.
The consequence is that Ariyasomvilla has a benign aura which is very conducive for doing meditation.
A four day silent meditation retreat will be offered up to 15 people in beautiful, tranquil garden setting with guidance provided in English by Ajahn Vimokha, an Thai monk. Accommodation will be provided in the hotel.
No previous experience in meditation or familiarity with Buddhism is necessary to join the retreat. Emphasis will be given to teaching the basics of calm and insight meditation to beginners. However, all are warmly welcome – whatever previous experience or background, Buddhist, non-affiliated or otherwise.
A general overview of Buddhist teaching and practice will be touched upon, including areas such as loving-kindness meditation, compassion, karma, in addition to the core Buddhist teachings of ethical conduct, tranquility and wisdom.
