A Transformative and Meditative Weekend Workshop and Retreat
Discover tranquility, creativity, and inner focus through the ancient art of Buddha sculpting. This unique two-day workshop invites you to handcraft your own Buddha statue—no previous art experience required. Held in the heart of Bangkok, it offers not only artistic guidance but also a deeply meditative and personal journey.
The Workshop
Over the course of a weekend, you’ll be immersed in the fundamentals of human-scale sculpture, guided by the hands of an expert.
Your Mentor: Ajarn Uon
Ajarn Uon is a highly respected sculpture instructor at the Architecture School of ABAC University in Bangkok. With international teaching experience, including as a former assistant in nude sculpture at the prestigious Parsons School of Fine Art in New York, she brings both academic rigor and compassionate guidance to each session.
Aj. Uon emphasizes natural human proportions—a hallmark of classical sculpture—while encouraging each participant to personalize their piece. Whether your Buddha exudes peace, wisdom, joy, or introspection is entirely up to your inspiration.
Sculpt Your Own Buddha
More Than Art: A Meditative Practice
For many Buddhists, sculpting the Buddha is a profound form of meditation. This workshop naturally fosters mindfulness: by concentrating on each curve and detail, your mind centers on the Buddha’s form and qualities—an established method among the 40 traditional Buddhist meditation techniques. By the end, most participants report a calm, peaceful, and uplifted state of mind.
