Programs and Retreats

Kai Sengokuhara is home to hot spring ryokans. The bath halls are pumped with milky white waters, abundant in antibacterial qualities, from the Owakudani volcanic valley. Each hall has two indoor baths, one hot and one just above body temperature, as well as an outdoor bath with a view of the surrounding forests and a water garden of luminescent stones. KAI Sengokuhara organizes art activities that encourage guests to find inspiration in the artwork throughout the resort and in the stunning landscapes outside their windows.

Guests are invited to join a nightly workshop where they will learn to decorate tenugui, a traditional Japanese handkerchief. Staff are on hand to assist guests with painting their original designs.
