On a forested hillside at 1,550 metres above sea level, one hour from Kathmandu and adjacent to Buddhist pilgrimage sites that have drawn seekers for three thousand years, Dwarika’s Sanctuary holds a rare convergence: in-house Ayurvedic doctors, resident Hindu priests, visiting Buddhist monks, a Pancha Kosha spa drawing on Himalayan herbal knowledge, a meditation labyrinth with an evening blessing ceremony, and a Crystal Chamber and Himalayan Rock Salt House used as energy-infused healing spaces. The Himalayas are not the backdrop here. They are the reason.

Healing in Nepal
Dwarika’s Sanctuary
A Himalayan wellness sanctuary above Dhulikhel, where Vedic philosophy, Buddhist healing tradition, and Ayurvedic medicine have been woven into a single coherent place of depth and stillness, one hour from Kathmandu with views of the Langtang range and, on clear days, Everest.
About
Dwarika’s Sanctuary sits on 22 acres of forested hillside above the ancient town of Dhulikhel, in the spiritual heartland of the Himalayas. The region has been home to healing, contemplation, and sacred practice for over three thousand years, and the retreat is built in full awareness of that inheritance. The Pancha Kosha Himalayan Spa derives its treatments from a synthesis of Ayurveda, Buddhist medicine, and local Himalayan knowledge, using herbs grown in the spa’s own grounds or sourced from across the mountain region. Daily rituals include yoga, meditation, breathwork, sound healing, planetary balancing, and evening blessing ceremonies in the meditation labyrinth. Food follows the Vedic principle “let food be thy medicine”, sourced from the property’s own organic farms, and prepared according to Ayurvedic and Buddhist nutritional principles. Six eco-organic farms supply the kitchens. Architecture is rooted in traditional Nepali village design, with stone pathways, natural materials, and open courtyards that dissolve the boundary between interior space and mountain landscape.
All programmes begin with a personalised consultation with the resident Ayurvedic doctor, who develops an individual wellness plan covering diet, treatments, and lifestyle. Core programme elements include daily yoga and meditation, Ayurvedic and Buddhist spa therapies, breathwork, sound healing, planetary balancing, chakra sessions in the Crystal Chamber, Himalayan salt therapy, and evening blessing ceremonies. A dedicated trauma and recovery programme supports guests rebuilding after surgery, illness, or emotional loss (minimum 7 nights). Farm hikes to Darimbot Farm, nature walks, bird watching, and pilgrimage excursions to Namobuddha and Bhaktapur complement the inner work. Cooking classes, pottery, and painting offer creative integration. From January 2026, an all-inclusive wellbeing concept with a minimum three-night stay.
